vegansaurus!

Two things.  »

The first is Roger Ebert’s review of Food, Inc., in which he doesn’t so much review the film as claim that it scared the “bejesus” out of him.

The second is Kottke’s post about Lant Pritchett’s observation on how big ideas are perceived over time: “silly, controversial, progressive, then obvious”. I’d say that, depending on where you are in the country and who you talk to, veganism is a Big Idea that’s currently somewhere in the silly-to-progressive range. And it’s not like Roger Ebert had a sudden conversion or anything like that, but more and more often someone like him will come along and say something like, “Huh. I never thought about it that way.”

All of which feels good and reassures me that I’m on the right side of history.
