Ecouterre gives us a preview of olsen Haus’ fall/winter 2010 line! Guess what? They are made from recycled TVs! I already loved olsen Haus because their shoes are THE HOTNESS, but now I love them that much more. Elizabeth Olsen, the designer, wants to get rid of the petroleum-based materials many vegan shoes are made of (petroleum makes the environment sad) in favor of materials that benefit the planet by reducing waste. Enter the old TVs!

Besides pictures of beautiful shoes, Ecouterre also has this great quote from Elizabeth Olsen: “The product needs to have substance to it, so you have to explain yourself or people would never know it was a) vegan or b) made from recycled TV sets,” she says. “It doesn’t have to look like an Earth Shoe or a Birkenstock.”

Oh snap! In your face Birkenstocks! But for real, Birkenstocks are fugly.

Sad part: it’ll be a while before we can get our hands on these TV shoes. But when they come out, OMG will I be wearing the hell out of these brown ones! Watch out.
