» OH NO! Little Otsu to close Valencia Street store :(
A nice write-up on Mission Local about the store, and it’s future plans to run everything virtually. Happy to hear that we’ll still be able to buy many of their goodies online but it was always nice to take SF visitors to the quirky adorable vegan store on Valencia for cute-ass shit, local zines, and a good selection of vegan cook books. Oh well.
A silver-lining is that its replacement is Scholar Match, a non-profit that connects students with donors to help pay for higher education. I’m glad something awesome will be in that awesome space. We’ll miss you, Little Otsu! I’m pouring out some vegan milkshake for you tonight, homie! J/k, I ain’t on no diet. I’ll just drink a second one in your honor.
QUICK QUESTION: Does anyone know if Little Otsu was the first vegan storefront in the US? Or anywhere? I’m talking about when they were Otsu over on 16th Street. I dunno… seems worth researching. Who likes to research? Not this girl! That’s why I blog!
