Buzzfeed’s at it again, with 22 of the Cutest Baby Animals You’ve Never Heard Of. Trust me, no matter what kind of day you’re having, even if (hypothetically) you have PMS and were at the office until 11:30 last night, this will make everything better.

My favs, if you’re too lazy to click over to the full post (or maybe you’re so happy already you don’t need a dose of baby animal? If so, take a hard look at yourself in the mirror and admit that’s ridiculous and impossible): the baby gundi (or comb rat) from northern Africa; an echinda from Australia, whose babies are for real called PUGGLES; and a little baby dik dik, aka tiny african antelope. I would so not mind working late if I had one of those guys helping me sort through my email. No, I would still mind working late. I’d rather be at home with my dik dik, feasting on grapes and artisan vegan cheeses and seeing who won the race to my lap, cat or antelope.

OMG Farm Sanctuary, you need to stop. Your FB is out of control and I’m going to die from the cuteness. This lil’ baby is a big pink mess of hilarity and adorableness. Cut. It. Out.

I saw on Farm Sanctuary’s FB that they just welcomed two new babies into the family! Look at this silly baby, her pants don’t fit! Can you say high-waters? Good luck with your new twins, Dolly!

Hello Tumblr! Check out these cute young Kangaroos in an incubator. A gentle giant has been nicknamed Kangaroo Dundee after rescuing and raising more than 200 orphan marsupials. Brolga, a 6ft 7inch Australian, gave up a life in the city to open his own sanctuary in the outback. Photograph: AGB Films/SWNS.com

Hello babies! Get more marsupial action with clips from the two-part BBC Two documentary, Kangaroo Dundee, about Brolga and the kangaroos he cares for.

Two rescued calves meet, become BFF  »

I mentioned cute rescue calf Stanley from Animal Place recently. At that time, he was sickly and couldn’t hang out with any other cows. BUT he just met his new BFF Theo and it’s the cutest! The two will be roomies until they are big enough to join the grown up cows. An illustrated diary of their meeting:

Amelia the Indian runner duck and Lilli the turkey are foster sisters through Best Friends Animal Society! They were rescued from the same feed store, and now live together at Best Friends, as best friends.
Read all about them (and sponsor them? Give a sponsorship as a gift!) at Best Friends.

Anzac and Peggy have a new best friend! This is Cupcake the swamp wallaby, another orphaned marsupial now in care at the Wild About Wildlife Rescue Centre in Kilmore, Australia.
Zooborns (which we usually don’t link to because we are Not Here for Zoos) has a few more photos of Anzac, Peggy, and Cupcake, which you should look at right away for maximum adorable animal benefits.

Moses, baby orphaned elephant, is the cutest  »

This is Moses. He has a blog. Because he needs one. You would need one too if you were the cutest lil’ ele ever!*

A very sickly baby Moses was discovered by a river in Malawi. When his mama couldn’t be found (possibly killed by poachers), he was taken in by Jenny Webb of the Jumbo Foundation. Webb is acting as the little guy’s mother until he’s old enough to head out for life on the reserve with his kin.

Moses gets along great with his current rag tag clan of animals—including Webb’s human baby. Moses is sure to supervise her baths.

So how much do you want a baby elephant now? Like, so much, right? I guess we have to hang out by rivers in Malawi? I have some vacation days I have to use up. But I think elephants stay with their mothers for like 10 years or so. That’s a commitment. A gazillion pound commitment. In college, I wanted to take guitar lessons but I totally took flute lessons instead because it was the easiest instrument to carry around campus. An elephant is a lot more cumbersome than a guitar. Sigh. I fear I may never mother an ele.

Orphaned kangaroo and wombat are BEST FRIENDS.
Anzac the joey was brought to the Wildlife Kilmore Rescue Centre in Victoria, Australia; at five months old, he was three months too young to be out of the pouch. The Kilmore staff placed him with Peggy the womat, and they reportedly spend every minute—sleeping and waking—together.
Do yourself a favor and check out all the giant, adorable photos of these two little marsupials, because they are hands-down the BEST. Goodbye, California, I am going to Australia to spend the rest of my life with Anzac and Peggy.
