Millennium’s Southern Comfort Dinner is coming! Reserve your seats now or y’all be screwed, ya hear! »
This is a reblog of what I wrote for SFist yesterday because I’m on deadline for a project that actually pays me, unlike you
ungrateful jerks friends of mine!
On Wednesday, May 25, Millennium goes country! Well, as country as a vegan restaurant in San Francisco can go. Which means, it’s country cliches left and right! Previous years feasts have included buckets o’ beer, mint juleps, deep-fried everything, wedge salads, a carving station (f’real), and a sundae bar. Not sure what’s so southern about that but we love sundaes so we’ll let it slide. It’s really one of the best nights dining anywhere and by the end of the night, you’ll be too fat to walk, and that’s definitely a southern thing. Or an awesome thing. It’s both things.
Millennium’s SoCo Dinner is a five-course prix fixe menu that costs $39.99 per person. Reservations are available between 5:30 and 9:30 p.m., call (415) 345.3900 to make ‘em.
Oh, and Meave reviewed a previous Southern Comfort Dinner and it was pretty fucking epic. Here’s some unsane po’ boy from that feast:
It’s the February East Bay Vegan Bakesale and you want to bake for it! So email and let them know. And if not, you want to go to it! All the details are on that rad flyer above and you can check out the info on Fat Bottom Bakery’s site. Ow!
Oh and perhaps you could make some of these cookies inside of cookies things? I’m pretty sure this is what Cookie Monster jerks it to. And by Cookie Monster, I mean me. And you. ADMIT IT.
The SF Food Wars Mac and Cheese Battle Royale is BAAAAACK! And vegans NEED TO ENTER! Remember last time when the Fat Bottom Bakery girls PLACED SECOND? A vegan recipe took 2nd prize, you guys! IN YOUR FACE, BACON WRAPPED BACON MAC AND BACON CHEESE. So this year, we must return and CONQUER! Let’s do this vegans!
If you’re vegan enough to do it to it, email email@example.com with the following info to apply to compete: Your Name, Dish Name, Dish Description, Phone Number, Email Address. Bust out your best vegan mac n cheese recipe and get ready to RULE KITCHEN STADIUM!!! Or, you know, cook in a competition that’s not on the Food Network but nevertheless brings honor to your people.
You guys! It’s not too late to throw together a vegan nog for the nog-in contest at Fabric8 this Saturday! They only have one vegan entry so far and they want more!!
If you’re interested, email Fabric8 and let them know you’re coming! And you plan to win! Oh, and did you see Isa’s new nog recipe? Looks INSANE, are you insane enough to enter it!? DO IT ENTER DO IT!!! And here’s more vegan egg nogs if you need even more ideas! Yes, it’s just a google search but still, VERY HELPFUL.
That sign above is from our entry last year. We did not win but we think it was rigged because we are poor losers!
Dude, that’s an entire Thanksgiving meal in one insane cake. WHO WILL VEGANIZE THIS FOR US!?!? Who here amongst us is vegan enough to pull off such a feat!? Seriously, we will post it and then create a shrine to you in our closets and pray before it every holiday season. You will become The Vegan Saint of Crazy-Ass Food and seriously, I’ll have a baby for you. Or not have a baby for you, if you’re anti-breeding. The point is, I’ll do something crazy in return…maybe I’ll shower two days in a row! Things could get nuts!
[At the very least, we will feature you on Vegansaurus! Every one of you who attempts this cake! Yes those are mini marshmallows on the top (because yams) but don’t let that intimidate you, BE BOLD.]
