Have you seen these orphaned baby fruit bats? Look at them, with their tiny baby bat blankets and their tiny baby bat bottles! Just look at them being so insanely cute I can’t even take it!

I was planning on going down to Australia and batnapping them immediately, but Grist says the Australian Bat Clinic, where they live, could really use some donations and volunteers, so maybe a less felonious trip is in order.

[thanks to my brother for the tip!]

A update on Lil’ Drac! I saw this on Cute Overload today and thought I’d share since he’s still pretty cute. Poor guy, so much trouble flying!

One commenter on our original post said that there may be some shady stuff going on at the Bat World Sanctuary. I looked into it and couldn’t make head or tail of it. I’m not sure what’s going on, sometimes the internet is a confusing place! You can look into it yourself and see if you get anywhere. And you can still sponsor cute Lil’ Drac if you see fit!

Lil’ Drac, a rescued baby fruit bat, gets care from the Bat World Sanctuary. HE IS SO ADORBS! Which totally surprised me. I know bats are really cool for like gardens and stuff but they still kind of scare me—they are so fast and unpredictable! So I was a little skeptical that this would be cute but it totes is. Especially the rocking towards the end. OMG! Now I want a little bat to hang from my finger. But bats are not pets! You can’t have one!

Nice fruit bat facts: “Fruit bats bring us over 450 commercial products and 80 medicines through pollination and seed dispersal. Over 95% of rainforest regrowth comes from seeds that have been spread by fruit bats.” Way to go, Lil’ Drac and friends!

Guess what! You can sponsor Lil’ Drac

I’m reblogging this because I can’t not. There’s really nothing else to say except LITTLE BATS I LOVE YOU.
