The LA vegan mac truck fundraising campaign has moved internet locations!  »

Recently we posted on Chef Ayinde Howell’s efforts to raise money to open a vegan and gluten-free MAC’N CHEESE TRUCK in LA. Well, the campaign has moved from Kickstarter over to Indiegogo, and I want to help get the word out because I am incredibly selfless. I also want it available for my consumption upon arriving in LA; it looks scrumptious! Anyway, you know how Kickstarter works; if you don’t make all the money you tried to raise, you don’t see any of it! That’s bananas, right? Or not, whatever, but it seems nutty to me. If you were thinking about, or did contribute to the original fundraiser, go ahead, take a look at the new internet location. Let’s not only help make Chef Ayinde’s dream a reality, but also my dream of eating a plate of Mac and Yease a few times a week!

Don’t just take our word for it (although, why wouldn’t you?), Janelle Monae and Alicia Silverstone are both Team Mac and Yease truck as well!

CLOSED—Giveaway: Win FREE tickets to vegan pop-up restaurant Wildflower in L.A. this weekend!  »

It’s the first giveaway from Vegansaurus Giveaway Week! This one is just for women-type people who will be in the L.A. area this weekend. But we’ll have plenty more prizes this week for everybody!

Hey ladies! Remember when Chef Ayinde Howell’s vegan pop-up Wildflower was in S.F.? Now it’s coming to L.A.! This Saturday, Sept. 22, Chef Ayinde will be cooking a five-course meal, JUST for ladies. And Vegansaurus is giving away two free tickets! To enter to win, leave a comment on this post explaining why L.A. is a vegan food wonderland.

More details:

Wildflower, the one-of-a-kind crowd-funded vegan pop-up phenomenon that debuted last year to sold-out crowds of New York foodies, will be bringing its artisanal plant-based creations to Los Angeles on Saturday, Sept. 22. Chef Ayinde Howell will be curating the first of the brand’s “Good Living” sessions—a festive dinner party, with cocktails and a chef demo. This is a ladies-only event, and guests will receive special gift bags filled with goodies.

Why woman-only? Women are the last minority in America to rise, and their power years are just in their infancy. Managing stress, work, success, family and a healthy diet can be hard to balance. Chef Ayinde is here to show you how it can be done.

Wildfllower Good Living will be a night of good food, fun and education. Just like the short-lived beauty of blossoming annuals in the field, Wildflower is here today and gone tomorrow. But this experience is designed to keep on giving. Complementing the ever-growing trend of food trucks and pop-up restaurants, Wildflower is a culinary experience with a purpose. Tickets can be purchased here.

Amuse: Scalloped Mushrooms with Sea-Sciutto
Mac & Yease
Cesar Howell Salad
Ayinde’s Jambalaya
Gran Marnier Bananas Foster

Who’s ready? Ladies, let me hear you say “yeah!” I’m SO jealous. I went to the pop-up in NYC and it was SO good. SO SO SO good. For all you L.A. people, now’s your chance! I will pick a winner on Thursday morning—leave your comment before then!

You can also skip the contest and buy tickets online. Up to you! Or buy tickets online and then win two more and then have a big party! It’s ladies’ night! The feeling’s right!

Vegan pop-up, Wildflower, in San Francisco this weekend!  »

Any plans for Cinco de Mayo? I plan on sunning (in my dreams there is sun in SF on my afternoons off) on my deck, with SkinnyGirl Margaritas* and  Sarah, while dancing to pop tunes. I know you can’t beat this arrangement, so don’t even try. Check out Wildflower instead!

Wildflower is a super-fancy pop-up from New York that’s rolling through San Francisco this weekend!

The menu looks pretty fucking legit, so I think Sarah and I will have to hop, skip, and jump on over to one of their locations, on Friday or Saturday night. BEER-BATTERED TEMPEH TACOS! It’s as if Wildflower knows my innermost desires (beer and tacos)!

If you are feeling extra super elegant, Wildflower is hosting a four-course sit-down dinner at a location that has yet to be announced, and to which you must RSVP to attend! Check out all the information here.

*Dammit, after reading this article, my hopes of margarita convenience are shattered. Can you send me your favorite, homemade  margarita recipe, preferably containing agave nectar, please? Thanks ever so much! All natural, homemade margaritas forever!
