Help this pit bull and chihuahua dream team, please! JUST LOOK AT THAT PHOTO. »
Reader Lis lives in the Pittsburgh area, and she has a friend who needs to home two dogs, a chihuahua and a pit bull! They are a bonded pair, so if you adopted them, you could get like an AWESOME family with NO work. It’s like you adopted a kid the day they before they left for Harvard on a full scholarship. Seriously, LIVING THE DREAM.
If you’re interested, or know anyone who might be, holler at Lis! Please note: You must be hella responsible and awesome and pay an adoption fee because these dogs are rad and you gotta want them. Plus, when they graduate, they’ll make you all sorts of money and keep you in the softest (faux) chinchilla fur. HERE’S THE INFO:
I am a vegan living in Pittsburgh area and have a friend who lives near me, currently in a predicament. She is in a financial crisis and must move, and cannot stay in an apartment with the number of animals she has, nor the pitbull she has. The issue is that there are two dogs, a pit and a chihuahua, who are a bonded female pair. They must go together, and are some characters! I fostered these two years back, and the problems always was, people either want one type of dog or the other, usually not both.
These two femme fatales are vegan. Nina was an abused pitbull who is scared of her own shadow, and Dutch is the chihuahua who came along and decided she would take Nina under her wing, and thus is fiercely protective of her pittie. The 8-pound gargoyle and the 55-pound helpless princess of the castle. They are darling. We will transport them for the right home ANYWHERE. I put a picture in here just so you can see their true love.
SF BAY AREA ALERT: Are you looking to adopt an adorable 1 1/2 year old chihuahua who is good with kids, other dogs, and most probably cats? Because I know one and she’s CUTE AS ALL GET-OUT and needs a home yesterday. She’s already spayed, has all her shots, is crate- and house-trained, and is just a delight. She’s also in a crap situation and needs to get out of it stat. If you or anyone equally awesome is looking for the perfect travel-anywhere dog, she’s your girl! Please email me if you’re at all interested—I’m helping to re-home this little lady and desperate for a lead! THANK YOU AMAZING VEGANSAURUS READERS!!!
Quick, help Huey before it’s too late! »
This is so sad. Poor Huey. The roommate of this four-pound chihuahua’s human companion threw him to the ground, kicked him in the head, and PISSED ON HIM. All together now: WTF?!
The little guy is clearly in pain and probably has brain damage, and he needs your donations to help get him to a neurologist. Click here to donate, and hurry! Please. I’m gonna go donate my life savings ($50, for real, I’m broke) and cry now.
UPDATE from Megan Rascal: Some people were concerned because the Chip In page said that the date to raise money for Huey had passed. I emailed the rescue group helping Huey and here is their reply:
Thank you so much for posting about Huey! Because of the postings of Huey’s story we were able to meet the goal we needed to get Huey into a neurologist and get an MRI, etc. We are so grateful for all the caring people out there such as yourself. People can still donate and all funds will continue to go to Huey’s future care…most likely he will need continued medical care for the trauma he suffered. But know that because of you and other wonderful people that have helped Huey, he is going to get all the medical care he needs.
So if you donated, your money is still going to help Huey! Maybe if you guys remind me, we can email them in a month or so and see how he’s doing.
Sage sent us this photo of Poncho, a rescued chihuahua-dachshund vegetarian, in his dressing gown. Poncho here had a “health scare last week when he was running a really high temperature; one infected tooth pulled later, he is back to his happy self and enjoying a week of soft foods (pureed yams and tofu).” We’re so happy to hear you’re well, little fellow!
