I am so excited to present you with the Bay Area’s newest vegan food venture: From The Garden, brought to you by newlyweds and all-around-awesome couple, Kyle and Ashley Knies! Their meal delivery boxes were mentioned in our SF Bay Area Thanksgiving write-up, now let’s get to know them a little bit better. Kyle is a professionally trained and incredibly talented chef while Ashley is a holistic health counselor — talk about a power couple right there! Their Berkeley-based company, From the Garden, is available to the Bay Area for a variety of services including: personal chef needs, cooking classes, catering events, food delivery and beautiful, monthly, greenhouse brunches. Take a summer produce cooking class with Millennium! Plus, a discount for Vegansaurus readers!   »

You know what’s awesome? Millennium, duh. What else? Learning to cook like the super-talents at Millennium. So how about taking the next Millennium cooking class?

On Sunday, June 24, Millennium hosts “Porcinis, Cherries, and Early Summer Produce.” Plus, Chef Eric Tucker will take you on a Ferry Building Farmers’ Market tour on Saturday, June 23, so you can “contribute to Sunday’s menu by picking out the most enticing and much awaited summer produce fresh from local farms.”

Sounds good, right? Produce-shopping happens on Saturday from 10 to (around) 11 a.m. at the Ferry Building, and the class itself is on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Millennium kitchen. Tickets are $160 per person—OR $145 for Vegansaurus readers, just mention us when you call!—and you can buy them by calling Allison at (415) 345.3900, ext. 13. Allison says that this would make a cool Father’s Day gift, which reminds us of that ever-applicable aphorism: Buy a father a dinner, feed him for a day; teach a father to cook gourmet vegan fare, feed all of you for a lifetime. You know!

Laura wanted me to tell you guys all about this fun S.F. activity because she said that last time all the classes completely sold out! So get in there quick! Plus she said the Laura who runs the classes is super nice (everybody loves a Laura!). Which always helps me learn! No, really. I can’t focus when a jerk is teaching. Why do people even teach if they are going to be jerks about it?

I don’t know exactly what’s going on in the picture below but I’m into it. If this is what the classes promise, I’m gonna fly out to S.F. just for them! The point is: raw vegan desserts! Yum!
