A vegan after-dinner cheese board? Yes! From our pal in the U.K., Chocolate and Beyond. This looks delicious! The only thing missing on this cheese plate is figs. No, not that kind of Fig! Silly.
I think I will actually have to get it together to try this one. I do love a cheese board! Then again, I could just use Punk Rawk Lab cheese. But then I wouldn’t have the satisfaction one gets from making fake cheese! I imagine it’s grand. And not unlike the satisfaction that comes from getting to the bus stop JUST as your bus pulls up. When I was little, my friend told me that means you did everything right all day.

Jeez louise! Olives for Dinner is killing it lately. And these vegan mozzarella, basil, and cherry tomato skewers certainly do not disappoint. How cute are they? Like, not even cute, more like “elegant.” These make me want to have a classy party! And be like, “la di da! I’m fancy!” Because, if you haven’t noticed, I’m hella fancy.

Dudes, it’s what it looks like: vegan crème brûlée! Made by Olives for Dinner with the Vegg. Crème brûlée is my mom’s favorite dessert so I used to make it for her when I was little. I had my own torch and everything. I was never that into it but I was always making stuff other people liked when I was younger and more accommodating. But I will have to try and make this for her! Doesn’t sound too hard.
Time to dig out the old torch!

Helloooo, nurse! Dang you guys, it’s hot in New York today. H-O-T hot. I could totally go for this roasted blueberry frozen yogurt! Thanks, Oh, Ladycakes! Can you fedex some of this to my office? I’d be your best friend!
I love roasted fruit. I think it’s the most genius thing ever. Roasted pears? Come on. The best. Roasted blueberries sound good too. Alright, back to the air condition!

Homemade vegan rainbow Oreos! »

Look at those beauties! From Short and Sweets blog. They’re just brimming with pride! If there’s one thing I like, it’s desserts that are proud of their homosexuality.
And please, nobody make the red dye is from beetles comment. There is plenty of red dye that is not made from bugs. Look it the hell up.

Breakfast ice cream? Don’t mind if I do! Especially since there’s bourbon in it. I try to get most of my daily bourbon intake out of the way in the morning, so this works out great.
This is from Pickles & Honey, but I believe Mission Local did a version as well. They were both inspired by a flavor from Slocombe—who I heard is a total d-bag, but inspiration comes from all sorts of places. Actually, d-bags are always inspiring me to do stuff: walk out of my way to avoid Bedford, steer clear of LES on Saturday nights, make NYC-centric lists. All sorts of stuff.

Happy day after 4th of July! What wackiness is this? From Family Kitchen: banana hotdogs! Cray. I know I’ve said this a million times by now but I’m totally fascinated by savory dishes made sweet and sweet dishes made savory. It’s just so freaky Friday!
These look a lot better than the bacon-wrapped porky hot dogs they had at the party I was at. Bleh! Bring on banana hotdogs!

Seitan, mushroom and thyme pie from UK vegan blog Spice Box of Earth! How much do you want this? Spoiler alert: SO MUCH.
This is maybe more of a wintry dish but I’m sure it’s good cold so maybe summer is actually the perfect time for it. Because god damn it’s summer. New York is supposed to be 90 degrees today. Shoot me in the head, please. But not before I get some seitan pie!

Vegan Kare-kare from Richgail at Astig Vegan! A site dedicated to showing the world that traditional Filipino food can be made vegan. From Richgail:
Traditionally, Kare-kare is a stew with ox tail, cow tripe, and vegetables cooked in thick peanut sauce. My mom and I re-invented it to a vegan delicacy, which not only became cruelty-free and delicious, but healthy too.
Her mom helped, sweet! I love peanut anything so I’m excited to get down with this action.
Exciting additional news!: Astig Vegan is holding a summer potluck in Golden Gate Park on Sunday, July 8th! Best vegan dish wins a prize! I know you vegans love competitions!
