This Saturday: SF Food Not Bombs fundraiser for reusable plates! »
They go through a lot of plates and utensils serving people at Food Not Bombs. Like, A LOT. They want to stop doing that AND create some gross dish washing work for their volunteers by purchasing sustainable plates! Woo! And to purchase those plates, they need to raise some monies. Enter, vegan dinner party. This Saturday, Feb. 5 at “alternative space” Station 40 (3030 16th St.), the Food Not Bombs crew is serving up a vegan feast, featuring some delicious-sounding eats. Anyway, here is the homespun (?) flyer (next time they should holler at Susie Cagle, no??), and here are the details, you should totally go:

The lovely Mandy of Wholesome Bakery is hosting a fundraiser bakesale and street food party on Saturday, Oct. 16 at La Victoria Bakery to help her brother Nick pay for medical costs related to his brain cancer recovery. Seriously, these two are amazing and making it happen and Oh! they’re both VEGAN! We need to show up and support them and eat tasty-ass food and yeah, let’s do this!
We have confirmation from Mandy that vegan goodies will be represented with treats from Wholesome Bakery, Fat Bottom Bakery, Mission Mini’s, Bike Basket Pies, and Sour Flour! And that’s just the start of it; there will be lots of tasty vegan street cart eats in the evening as well! Let us party and get fed and fat for a good cause and feel great about ourselves and the world and maybe even all get naked and make out after! Yes?
The bakesale is Saturday, Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the street food party goes from 6 to 10 p.m. La Victoria is at 2937 24th St. at Alabama Street.

Free Vegan Cupcakes on Wednesday! »
Come drink beer and eat vegan cupcakes to raise money for Rocket Dog Rescue. Yours truly will be there, along with the Hot Ladies (and a few bros) of the Internet, serving up drinks at Elixir from 9 pm to 1 am. It’s gonna be super trashy, Coyote Ugly style! If you’ve been bad, there will be some table dancing and ripping off of shirts and playing ballads on the bar while also in a wet t-shirt contest. Basically, it’s your dream night.
