Sunday: Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary Barn Bash! Help the Turlock hens!  »

We know how much you love the Turlock hens. That’s how we know you’ll be at Harvest Home on Sunday, June 3, for a barn dedication celebration! The Turlock hens got an entirely new barn to live in following their rescue this spring, where they cohabitate with other rescued birds.

Harvest Home wants to thank you for your support in the construction of the barn, as well as show it off, so they’re throwing a little party from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. You’ll eat and drink (vegan-ly, of course), and meet the birds as well as the amazing Harvest Home workers. All ticket sales directly benefit Harvest Home, and this event marks the beginning of the organization’s fundraising campaign for the future “Sanctuary Avian Medical Barn.” Awesome, right? Right!

Buy tickets here, and go party with the birds in their new, wonderful home on Sunday!

Celebrate Easter by attending a bunny adoption on Saturday!  »

Our pals at Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary are having another bunny adoption on Saturday, and you should go! Got the Easter Bunny fever? Meet some actual bunnies, get more information about how totally great rabbits are and whether one would make an awesome new best friend for you! (Hint: Probably.)

Harvest Home wants to note that they have a “no same-day adoptions” rule, so you won’t be going home with a bunny on Saturday, though you will most likely want to take them all and feed them strawberries and carrot greens, but that would put your heart at serious risk of exploding from cuteness, so, no dice. Instead, you can meet some cool rabbits, learn about what bunnies need from a human, and maybe start the adoption process so that someday soon you will be romping with your bun. Like Bugsy up here!

This event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 7, at the Tri-Valley SPCA at 4651 Gleason Dr. in Dublin. As always, there’ll be bunny speed-dating and nail-trimming for you lucky people who already have rabbits.

Preview some of the adoptable rabbits here, and contact Harvest Home for more information.

Adopt a bunny at the East Bay SPCA on Saturday!  »

It’s another multiple-organization (woo woo) rabbit adoption event! Meet and greet bunnies from Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary, Hayward Animal Services, Tri-City Animal Shelter, and Bananas for Bunnies rabbit rescue. As always, you can also bring your fixed rabbit for help with matchmaking and free nail trims, get advice from rabbit experts, and purchase some bun-accessories. Plus, you can feed the rabbits fresh greens! If you haven’t watched a rabbit eat a big old carrot-top, you haven’t lived.

All the fun happens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the East Bay SPCA Tri-Valley Adoption Center, at 4651 Gleason Dr. in Dublin. Contact them at (925) 479.9670 with any questions, and get ready to have fun with some adorable buns! Like Sidney, a male mini rex mix, who kindly agreed to lend his image to this post.

PS: You can preview the adoptable rabbits at each organization’s site: Harvest Home at PetFinder; Hayward Animal Services at Pet Harbor; Tri-City Animal Shelter at Pet Harbor; and Bananas for Bunnies.

Just a big lop hopping around to Feist. Thanks for pushing all of my nurturing buttons, Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary. I’ll be ping-ponging between wanting babies and wanting bunnies for the rest of the day.

Happy Thanksgiving from the wonderful people (and their friends and loved ones) of Harvest Home Sanctuary! We love Harvest Home! According to photographer Ian Elwood, “We feasted on an all-vegan banquet of traditional Thanksgiving fare: stuffing, gravy, grilled vegetables, and fruit tart for dessert. We gave thanks in appreciate of the variety of delicious foods we have the privilege to enjoy, while knowing that we do not have to take life to enjoy them.” See more photos on Flickr!

Awesome! Flat Bonnie comes in many colors and sizes but they have one thing in common: they’re all adorbs!
More info:

Hello! I’m Flat Bonnie! I’m ready go to my forever home!I love to go everywhere with you and get my picture taken.Flat Bonnie was created to bring awareness to the life of bunnies in shelters and rescue centers, many people do not know that there are buns ready for adoption at these places. Flat Bonnies are made for people who love BUNNIES! and for people who may want a real bun but are not ready to provide the proper care and finances needed to raise a real bun. When that person is ready for a real bun, Bonnies message is to adopt a bun from a local shelter or rescue center.

There are also Flat Cavies and a customizable Flat Doggie that I may need.
These are so cute and so sweet. They would make a great present or just get one for yourself! Better yet, get one for ME! I deserve it.

These two fox terrier-mix puppies need homes! Can you help?  »

Lena

Lewis

How cute are these babies? Pro tip: SO CUTE! They are at the Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary in Stockton, CA and they need homes! Lena and Lewis both have petfinder pages. The brother and sister were found sad and dirty on a country road in Stockton in October. Lena is lively and gentle and likes getting hugs (OMG!). Lewis is a “miniature athlete with a winning heart of gold,” and is looking for some nice active humans. They sound so cute! They LOOK so cute! Someone out there must be looking for cute puppies like these. If you can’t adopt them, maybe you know someone who can? Send this around to your friends and family! Post it on Facebook! These guys deserve homes and every little bit helps!

If you want more info or want to meet Lena and/or Lewis, contact Lena at rescue@harvesthomeanimal.org.
