Cupcakes for Choice raised $1,500 for Planned Parenthood!  »

High five, y’all! Many thanks to everyone who came out in the rain and donated and stuffed your faces and made it happen! And many many many thanks to the wonderful Robin Doolin, who did the majority of the organizational work, and is an all-star superstar. Turns out, eating vegan whoopie pies for reproductive rights is where it’s AT. Now I can cross that off my list of sentences I never thought I would type. Just last week I nixed, “I’m kind of attracted to Bobcat Goldthwait” off my list of sentences I never thought I’d say. Out loud.

So we can all feel even crappier that it’s Monday, here are some pictures of delicious vegan treats that you can’t eat. Sad.

This Sunday: Cupcakes for Choice!   »

By now, most people have heard about the U.S. House of Representatives voting to bar Planned Parenthood health centers from all federal funding for birth control, cancer screenings, HIV testing, and other lifesaving care. Well, a lot of people think that’s bullshit and we’re dealing with our frustration and anger and rage in the only way we know how: EATING! LADIES AM I RIGHT? Enter: Cupcakes for Choice!

Cupcakes for Choice is an awareness- and fundraising event for Planned Parenthood. We’ll sell cupcakes (or any baked good deliciousness volunteers make/bring!), distribute literature/collect signatures, and raise hell via sweet treat activism. So far TONS of the baked goods are gonna be vegan and if you want to bake, that’ll be even more! Let’s get fat for women’s rights!

You can RSVP on the Facebook page, and if you want to bake or volunteer, email Robin. Or just come to the event! For which the details are below! Handy!

Cupcakes for Choice will be in front of Mission Bicycle at 766 Valencia St. on Sunday, Mar. 6 from noon to 4 p.m.
