Cupcakefest is gonna rock New Jersey on Saturday! Go eat cake! »
The Nico Blues will play to an audience of cupcakes on Saturday. Minus 10 for the moose on the right wall, but plus 30 for the carrots on the back wall. Carrots!
Sweet Avenue Bake Shop—which we hear is awesome from reliable ‘sauruses (see what I did there?)—is co-sponsoring an all-day music and CUPCAKE festival in New Jersey this Saturday. Screw the music, I want cake, but to each his own I suppose.
Cupcake Festival 2011 is FREE (
though I bet the cake isn’t UPDATE from Danielle at Sweet Avenue: “While we’ll be selling regular-sized cupcakes at our shop all day, every Cupcakefest we hand out thousands of free mini cupcakes all day!” SCORE!) and proceeds from raffles and other such shenanigans will go to an animal shelter in New Jersey. The poor creatures are already in New Jersey, let’s help them, shall we?
In case you missed it, New Jersey vegan cupcake shop Sweet Avenue is taking the world by storm with their Charlie Sheen cupcakes! It’s basically front page news. According to their twitter, they just sold a box to Geraldo. GERALDO.
Hmm, do you think it’s safe to say Charlie Sheen got more attention than the earthquake in Japan will get? Oh, Hollywood, your siren song enraptures us. But wait! All is not lost! Sweet Avenue is donating money to the Red Cross for every red velvet cupcake they sell. Yay! And I can tell you from experience, their red velvet cupcakes are the jam.
In other news: Geraldo is still alive.
I was staying at a friend’s in New Jersey when I convinced him to drive me to Sweet Avenue Bakeshop! Man, do people love doing stuff for me. Clockwise from the top: Sexy Sadie (red velvet), pumpkin spice (gluten-free), Dark Side of the Moon (vanilla cake with chocolate frosting), mint chocolate (chocolate cake with mint frosting, filled with mint chocolate cream). And the winner is: Sexy Sadie!
How jealous are you?
