Turkeys! Fall! Harvest Home! What isn’t there to like about Toast to the Turkeys? Our pals at Harvest Home warn us that tickets are going like hotcakes, so get yours today! They cost $40 for adults, $15 for children under 17, and for $55 you can get an adult ticket and sponsor a turkey for a year!
What is Toast to the Turkeys? It is an autumnal celebration of Harvest Home, its wonderful rescued animals, and a chance to eat delicious vegan food and hang out with other great people who love Harvest Home. There’ll be a buffet, a silent auction, a food drive, a turkey sponsorship drive, and you can tour the sanctuary, which is home to so many lovely, deserving animals who are living their best lives.
Plus, have we stressed enough how wonderful it is to feed a cranberry to a turkey? It is so wonderful.
Toast to the Turkeys happens on Saturday, Nov. 10, from noon to 4 p.m. at Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary in Stockton. There are very few tickets left; purchase yours here. For more adorable animal photos (and information about the sanctuary and how you can help support their good work), follow Harvest Home’s Tumblr.

Toast to the Turkeys, part two: vegan food drive! »
I adore turkeys because they are cute (like every animal EVARRR), and I adore food because it is delicious. So let me give you a friendly reminder to go give some turkeys a few high-fives and feed them cranberries this Saturday at Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary, AND donate some delicious veg food!
At Toast to the Turkeys this Saturday, Nov. 12, Harvest Home will host its first annual “Humane Harvest” vegetarian food drive, to benefit the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin.

Harvest Home Sanctuary’s Toast to the Turkeys celebration! Buy your tickets RIGHT NOW! »
You know what’s fucking ridiculous? The fact that it’s almost 2012. It was JUST 1998, am I right?! How the hell are we almost living in the future!? I can’t handle this passage of time bullshit. Like sand through the fucking hour glass, so our the days of fucking lives passing us the fuck by.
Since it’s later in the year, that means time to talk turkey! More specifically, petting turkeys and feeding them cranberries (they love ‘em!). Harvest Home Sanctuary (one of our favorites!) is having their second annual Toast to the Turkeys Celebration on Saturday, Nov. 12 in honor of their rescued turkeys. You’ll get to poke around the sanctuary and hug everyone, have delicious vegan food and drink, and PARTY WITH THE TURKEYS. Ain’t no party like a turkey party ‘cause a turkey party has TURKEYS EATING CRANBERRIES.
Harvest Home Sanctuary is really wonderful, they provide excellent care to nearly 200 animals at their rescue and rehabilitation center in Stockton. If I were a rescued animal, I would totally want them to take care of me. It’s the lap of luxury!
Since Vegansaurus is an official sponsor, we will also be there; you can meet us and steal locks of our hair. So fun! If you want to join us in sponsoring the event, email Christine for more details! To buy tickets, head here.
Also, this is really cool: Woop Studios (the Harry Potter series* graphic designers!) created a turkey print for Harvest Home in honor of the event. A portion of the print sales will benefit their work so if you want rad art and want to support an amazing sanctuary, you will buy
me yourself me AND yourself one today!
*HEARD OF THEM!? Well, maybe you haven’t.
[The turkey in the photo from last year’s celebration is named BURL: 1) Best name for a turkey ever; 2) How can people eat turkeys!? They’re little dinosaurs! A dinosaur will fuck your shit up!]

From the site (DONATE!):
In 2004, we opened our barn doors to the first animals rescued by our sanctuary on Thanksgiving Day. Since our creation, Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary has established itself as a force for saving unwanted animals in California. Our organization has rescued hundreds of animals from shelters, hoarders, breeders, butchers and beyond. Currently, we are proud to care for nearly 200 animals at our rescue and rehabilitation center in Stockton.
For our sixth anniversary this Thanksgiving, a team of volunteers will participate in Stockton’s Annual Run-Walk to raise funds for the sanctuary in union with our funding drive.
Celebrate our lifesaving work with a donation to our $6K anniversary campaign today. Our funding drive will run through the end of the year.
