S.F. Vegan Drinks is back on Thursday! New venue, new drinks!   »

C’mon, I know you missed all the awkward mingling and the chance to catch of glimpse of the hot ladies of VegNews and Vegansaurus! So hot. I’m stoked it’s in a new venue this time around (though I do love Martuni’s, change is good!) and the cocktail special will be vegan white Russians! I’m so there.


When: Thursday, Jan. 26, 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, 2323 Mission St. at 19th
Drinks: $3 bottled beer, $4 well drinks, and $5 vegan white Russians!
Food: Sweet potato tater tots, beer-battered onion rings, veggie burgers, and vegan sliders!

I just read on Yelp that they have tater tots cooked in truffle oil! For real?! Five baskets, please! It’s cool, I’ll share — that way I can talk your ear off about my upcoming trip to Chicago!*

*Hear that, Chicago vegans? I’ll be in your neck of the woods on Sunday, hopping all over Wicker Park (for the Handlebar and Sultan’s Market, obvi!) What an exhausting a fun week this is going to be!

Community Solidarity helps to collect and share veg*n groceries with groups like Long Island Food Not Bombs. Since becoming a nonprofit in May 2011, they have shared nearly a million pounds of food with tens of thousands of people!

Let’s get our swerve on! In the name of community and solidarity! I know it’s raining but it’s not like you’re going to melt. Or ARE you?! Bwahahahaha! Halloween! Fun times!

The September installment of SF vegan drinks has been announced! You will be there on the 29, right? Cause Sarah M. Smart and I like to go to each table and introduce ourselves/make friends with everyone there. Actually, she is much better at it than me. I went back to our table after meeting about three people. It’s just so strenuous!

As usual, it’s at Martuni’s (corner of Market and Valencia). The veg drink special will be Pirate Punch — what it contains I cannot tell you, but there is not a doubt in my mind that it will be delicious. AND STRONG. Now you know why I keep going back.

Hey, SF! Vegan Drinks is upon us!  »

My favorite thing in the world is picking popcorn out of my teeth. Why? Because it gives me something to do AND it means I just ate a shit-ton of popcorn, which is one of many reasons to go to August’s SF Vegan Drinks tomorrow, Aug. 25, from 6 to 8 p.m at Martuni’s.

Why else would you go? Besides all-you-can-eat vegan popcorn, you can get hammered meet other local vegans and network to your little heart’s content. This month’s special is something called the “VDSF,” a martini with this new SF edition of Absolut Vodka (no idea) and juice, for $5. VegNews will provide attendees with a list of nearby veg restaurants to help you soak up the booze later, and if you’re working on a veg project, you can yak into the microphone to anyone who will listen at 7:45 p.m. Plus if you’re like me—cough-UNEMPLOYED-cough—you don’t have an excuse NOT to go. I’m bummed they did away with the vegan hot dogs, but I hate everything there’s always next time.

Our the one and only Megan Rascal is djing at tonight’s NYC Vegan Drinks. Woohoo! I’ve been spending a fair amount of time in the same turntable rooms as that heifer and she can SPIN. She’s got all the fly tunes to make your vagina pop. If you’re not dancing to her sweet sounds, I don’t know what you’re doing, but we certainly can’t call it living, can we?

Hey vegan drinkers, guess who got a new job?! Me! So guess who can attend next week’s installment of vegan drinks? ME! Scout out the shy-but-intellectual-looking one in the corner. Or the balls-to-the-wall drunk, I could easily be either.

Ya heard? It’s vegan drinks in NYC tonight and your friend Megan Rascal is PUMPED. I will be there and I will be fun and awesome as usual!

You’ll get an extra hour to drink, eat and donate to Mercy For Animals (MFA) at this week’s Vegan Drinks NYC on Thursday, Apr. 28 at Angels & Kings Bar in the East Village. We’ll get started at 7 p.m. and keep things going until 10. Draft beers and well drinks are $1 off all night!

BEST PART OF THE NIGHT? An anonymous donor moved by MFA’s undercover footage of calves being bludgeoned with pickaxes at E6 Cattle Co. has agreed to match up to $2,500 of our donations to MFA. So, bring your wallets and give big so we can meet (and hopefully exceed) that $2,500 mark and turn our $2,500 into $5,000!

Dang! What is better than getting drunk for charity? NOT MUCH. If you missed the MFA footage at E6 Cattle Co., you are lucky. Plus, maybe you should check it out.
