March SF Vegan Drinks is TONIGHT! »
What up, y’all! Here’s my copy-and-pasted vegan drinks announcement. Plagiarizing from myself, that’s my new thing! And by new, I mean I’ve been doing it for years, just in the sense that like, the history of humans on earth is new, you know?
The gloriously tipsy vegan drinks is tomorrow night, and we know all you boozehounds want to get drunk as a skunk* with us. Then, let’s go eat everything in the city OMG FUN.
As usual, adorable and awesome Lyndsay has the details: The February installment of Vegan Drinks is Thursday, Feb. 24, at Martuni’s (Valencia @ Market Streets). As always, there will be a great drink special—this month is $5 strawberry and lime rickeys—a host of nonalcoholic beverage options, and all-you-can-eat popcorn! SF Vegan Drinks is, as always, sponsored by VegNews and Vegansaurus, and runs from 6 to 8 p.m. Have something to say? The mic opens at 7:45 for announcements about any veg projects you’ve been working on. Don’t worry, no bad open-mic poetry, we promise! The last SF Vegan Drinks of 2010 is TONIGHT! »
Let’s celebrate this shit-tay weather by getting shitfaced with our vegan brethren at Martuni’s for the last SF Vegan Drinks of the year! Sad face. As always, SF Vegan Drinks is sponsored by your Vegansaurus, and the wonderful folks at VegNews, who bring you this important message:
The special drink this month is a Pumpkin-based (Yes!) Fall Harvest Martini for $5. IS THAT NOT ENOUGH!?
We’ll also be cooking up some more vegan hot dogs. For only 98 cents a piece, you can satisfy your after-work hunger. There will also be all the vegan popcorn you can eat!
This is by the way all lies, because I “can” eat a fuckton of popcorn. And a fuckton of just about anything else, even though we’re all secretly anorexics with latent foie gras desires. East Bay Vegan Drinks is TONIGHT! »
If you live in the East Bay and never come to San Francisco because you’re lame (that’s me now too!), you might want to head to Berkeley for Vegan Drinks TONIGHT! It’s at the Beta Lounge in Berkeley and starts at 6:30 p.m. I’ve never been to the Beta Lounge so I can’t tell you if it’s the best or the worst but LIVE A LITTLE WHY DON’T YOU.
Oh also, join their Facebook group for updates because sometimes we’re lax about promoting this event and it needs to blow up and get huge like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man LADIES AM I RIGHT!?

NYC Vegan Bakesales for Haiti, Jan. 28 and 31! »
Ladies and gentlevegans!! There will be two (2!) NYC vegan bake sales to support animals in Haiti next week. The first is at Vegan Drinks at Angels & Kings on Thursday, Jan. 28, 7 to 9 p.m., organized by SuperVegan. More than 20 generous vegans will be baking all sorts of scrumptious confections—cupcakes, cookies, cinnamon buns, even doggy treats—the proceeds of which are going to the Animal Relief Coalition for Haiti and SODOPRECA. Per usual, DJ Lil Ray will be rockin’ the beats. And don’t forget the booze: 2-for-1 during Vegan Drinks!
Because VEGAN BAKESALES SAVE LIVES, Mooshoes will host another on Sunday, Jan. 31, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Those profits go to Doctors Without Borders. But this is not just a bake sale; it’s also a raffle with gift certificates from MooShoes, Candle 79, Foodswings, Sweet Avenue Bakery, Lula’s, Tiengarden, and a bunch more! Oh my gosh, I want to win one of those! And also help people!
If you’re looking for ways to help animals in Haiti but you can’t tell your ass from the mixing bowl, attend one of these fiiiine events and buy all your Valentine’s Day presents, or donate money directly ARCH or SODOPRECA. Do it!
