The Toronto Vegetarian Association is putting on this event called Veggielicious, and it’s an all-vegan restaurant event that runs from Apr. 9 through 24. Vegan and non-vegan restaurants around the Toronto area will offer special vegan combo meals or fixed-price specials. It’s the first year they’re holding the event, and they have about 20 restaurants lined up to participate. So two things:
1) If you’re in Toronto, you must so totally go, AND;2) Yo! We need a vegan restaurant week, like all over. Maybe some vegan blogs could get together and make this happen? We could start in bigger cities and then if that goes well, we could move to small ones, too? I don’t know. What say you, vegan bloggers of the world? Or just people of the world? Just imagine me as Janet Jackson in the "Rhythm Nation" video, rallying everyone to eat vegan food. I think that’s what the song is about anyway.
Anyway, if you’re interested, email me! Sing it, people!

Hey, MoFo! What do you want to see this year?  »

For those of you who don’t have as intense a relationship with the internet as I do, you may be as yet unaware of the vegan blogging sensation currently gearing up to take over the internet. It’s called Vegan MoFo (no, it’s not rude—it stands for VEGAN MOnth of FOod), and it’s, well, totally awesome.

Started in 2007 by Isa Chandra Moskowitz as a way to up the visibility and popularity of vegan food blogs (and to encourage non-vegan food blogs to write about vegan food), this year marks the fourth annual MoFo, and Vegansaurus’ third! This year promises to be the biggest and best yet, with over 300 blogs and counting signed up already! You can see the list here. For the second year in a row, some brave souls have also taken on the task of keeping a Vegan MoFo Headquarters blog, dishing out blog roundups, helpful tips, and general greatness.

Finally, with only six days left before the madness begins, your Vegansaurus is looking for suggestions on what you, gentle readers, would like to see us blogging about for MoFo. Leave us a comment and let us know what tickles your fancy!

I’m moving right now and supposed to be packing so I don’t really have a moment BUT HOLY SHIT. That is a cake made with crepes and whipped cream and fresh fruit. Moving is hard but that cake is easy. I don’t even know, moving is tiring and making me loooooooopy!
