Speaking of chocolate, Melissa at Vegenista veganized this chocolate, cherry, and pistachio tart by Giada di Laurentis. Isn’t it glorious? I’d say she’s outdone herself, but this little beauty is really her average work (girl composes a mean salad, too). Is it too late for Christmas desserts? NO. It’s not even Epiphany yet! Really, anytime is the right time for chocolate tarts.
Get the recipe and see more delectable photos at Vegenista, where Melissa documents her fabulous SoCal vegan lifestyle (including recipes).

Summer Squash Risotto with Fresh Garlic & Petite Peas from the talented Vegenista! Good lord, this looks all right, outta sight! I love risotto; it’s the greatest because it’s so easy to fuck up but even if you overcook it, the result is just kind of a makeshift juk, and it’s still delicious. Also, it’s cheap-ish and you can put pretty much anything you want in it and it’ll probably be tasty as hell. Let’s eat it all! All of it!

» Vegenista interviews LoveLikeBeer!
Vegan beer-and-food events San Diego! We have another reason to envy San Diego!
Here’s an excerpt from the interview, which you should go read:
Vegenista: Both your first event and your upcoming event are at non-vegan restaurants. What has been the typical response from the chefs when you’ve approached them about doing an all-vegan menu?
LoveLikeBeer: The chefs are looking at it as an inspiring and challenging project and couldn’t be more excited about cooking a completely vegan menu. They take their typical vision for the restaurant and then turn it vegan, which is really cool and interesting. Most of the restaurants we work with, while still serving non-vegan food, already had very good vegan options though, so it wasn’t like starting from scratch.
Neat, right? And the next event, happening on Tuesday, July 26, will feature “’Coconut Wheat Beer,’ [which[ will be a lighter bodied beer with a coffee-coconut flavor that you’d typically see in darker beers like porters or stouts.” Uh, YES PLEASE. Where are our beer-and-food events, Bay Area?

Bake with Erin McKenna in Beverly Hills!
If you live in Los Angeles, you can sign up for a micro-mini baking demo with Erin on Tuesday, Dec. 21 from 6 to 7 p.m. at M Cafe in Beverly Hills. She’ll be baking the Agave Brownies & then she’ll be around to chat with you about her book and answer any BabyCakes cookbook baking questions you might have.
Babycakes is so successful, you guys; maybe our L.A. friends should go for the business tips. And send your San Francisco friends a batch of agave brownies, because we tipped you to this. And M Cafe comes highly recommended by our Brianna!
[Thanks to Melissa the Vegenista for the info!]

Anyone else with Thanksgiving photos? »

Remember, dear readers, we are still taking and posting photos of your vegan Thanksgiving dinners and leftovers creations! It is a show-and-tell weekend—please tell us so we can show what vegan Thanksgivings look like!
The above photo is of Melissa of Vegenista’s pomegranate and brussels sprouts salad, from the Skinny Bitch Ultimate Everyday Cookbook—it’s raining here and I felt like we needed a brilliant explosion of color. And we could use more! So if you haven’t sent us evidence of your fantastic food yet, we’re expecting them!
